The one (most important) thing you need in place when scaling your content operations?

Building iScribblers - a content writing partner for fast scaling SaaS companies
The best part of traveling is the variety of cuisines I get to try, along with the coffee of each place.?
Last month I explored London (and Wales and Brighton) for a month. I’ve made a list of some of my favorite cafes and restaurants. Oh and bars and coffee places. ???????? | ??
(Happy to share ?? list over DM’s.)?
Ollie and Steen on Bond Street has the best black current poppy seeds rosehip slice of cake + the best coffee.
The happy face says it all.
Nearly five times a week I’d explore new food places, and every once in a while I’d get my regular dose of a McDonald's burger. There’s something about McDonald's, no matter where you go, their burgers taste (nearly) the same. And when traveling to a new country, sometimes I crave this familiarity.?
If you’re wondering, what’s this got to do with scaling content, ??….
I find a common thread between McDonald's and creating content at scale.?
Let’s assume you’re a content manager at a fast-scaling SaaS company.?
One of your major responsibilities is to ramp up the content production from 4-5 blog posts a month to 15-20/month for this quarters.
The next 2 quarters would be gunning for hyperscale growth of 50-100 posts/month.?
Think of the uniformity in McDonald's taste and quality.
?? How do you make sure the content creation runs on autopilot and you don’t end up losing your mind over the quality?
?? Or that you don’t spend most of your time formatting/tailoring this content to your brand’s tone and style??
? How do you ensure the pieces you get are uniform and publish-ready??
The key to this is: having content guidelines + outlines in place.?
Here's the one we stick to:
General guidelines?
That said, every article should have a detailed topic brief.? This is something we particularly follow for our content at scale clients for their and our sanity.???

Topic brief?
You may think this is a lot of work. And I agree.
However, a detailed brief is much better than having to spend hours re-writing an average article/re-formatting the style.??
That's because editing content is not the only part of your job. ????
A cautionary note here: When you onboard an agency - the initial few articles would still require some hand-holding. Be prepared.?
Once the expectation sets in and the writers understand the guidelines - it becomes easier to run content at scale on autopilot.
