One more Thing - Apple Event
All things said about 2020, having three apple events this year was a treat for most.
The Apple event, 'One more thing' was held last night. It announced the launch of the new MacBooks. For most tech enthusiasts, this event was one to remember. Jumping right into the happenings of the evening.
M1 Chip
It's the first chip designed for Mac. This compact-sized chip is considered a giant leap in performance per watt. M1 consists of a unified memory system, integrated GPU and neural engine. It’s extremely fascinating to know that this is the first personal use chip constructed using industry-leading 5nm technology. It runs on 4 high-efficiency cores, regarded as the world’s fastest by Apple. The chip is said to perform 2 times faster than all industry known PC chips. It also features an 8 core GPU, Apple’s most advance graphic processor made till date. The beauty of the genius behind M1 is that it is designed to administer high-level machine learning, ensuring that improved performance is the norm.
MacBook Air
The first M1 equipped MacBook Air was released last night. While the look of the new Macbook retains that of the older versions, the long battery life left the crowd feeling all charged up! The battery performance includes 18 hours of video playback!! Now that’s the kind of battery performance we all need. It is deemed to be 3 times faster than the older version as well. This masterpiece redefines the working of the thin and small airline! The new MacBook air is regarded to be one without a fan! Ironically it has a fan in me (emoji)! More interesting than the features themselves is the price range, it starts at 999 USD only.
Mac Mini
M1 chip is further used in the Mac Mini Desktop. The design of the Mac Mini is simple and sleek. The graphic performance is 6 times better than the older versions. Apple went a step further and compared the Mac Mini to competitor desktops. It is visibly smaller than most desktops in its price range and works at 5 times the pace than any other. The Mac Mini was developed keeping developers, scientists and engineers in mind. Additionally, it also comes with a headphone jack and starts at just 699 USD!
MacBook Air Pro
The 13-inch MacBook Pro sees the likes of the M1 Chip as well. The battery life is longer than any mac device which consists of about 20 hours of video playback. Tech enthusiasts have questioned the authenticity of any visible difference between the MacBook pro and air, owing to both of them functioning using the M1 chip. While the facetime camera remains unchanged, the audio seems significantly improved with studio-quality mics.
MacOS11 Big Sur
The Mac operating system Big Sur update has been talked about by many and longed for by a larger number. Well, now that we know that the update of the OS was made to leverage the power of M1, the prolonged-release makes sense to most. Apple also highlighted the swift nature of the OS by emphasizing the ability of the MacBook Pro to power up and open apps in the blink of an eye.
This event was more tech-oriented and less about the design of gadgets. Aimed at highlighting their tech proficiency over 2020, the event saw the likes of 5 more things! No complaints, because Apple’s commitment to innovate above and beyond has always been a delight to witness.
This is the last Apple event for the year, it’s been a good year for Apple. Looking forward to the next one!
