NAUSHAD, NHS Volunteer Responders have completed 1 million acts of kindness for the people who need them - and we couldn't have done it without your amazing contribution.
As one of our most active volunteers, you’ve gone above and beyond to look after some of the most vulnerable people in your local community during the last few weeks and months. The time that you’ve given has been a lifeline to those who’ve needed you.
THANK YOU from me and everyone at Royal Voluntary Service, GoodSAM and NHS England.
With coronavirus cases rising and a national lockdown in place, demand for help from people vulnerable because of COVID 19 is growing and we are looking for more volunteers to sign up and join us. We would appreciate any help you can give us to spread the word with your friends, family and neighbours. They need to be over-18, living in England and have a smart phone.
Thank you, once again, for continuing to support the NHS Responders programme and staying on duty.
@Rebecca Kennelly MBE,
Director of Volunteering, Royal Voluntary Service
Thankful words from people who've been supported by NHS Volunteer Responders...
“This has been such a worrying time for me. I have a series of complex medical conditions which mean that catching COVID-19 could be very serious, and I’ve needed increased support. I live at home with my husband, but given the high levels of anxiety that I have faced, being able to speak to a Check-in and Chat volunteer has been so valuable." Norma, Sheffield
“Having volunteers that are doing their bit restores your faith in humanity. It’s a lifesaver for many. I would like to say thank you.” Nick, Northamptonshire
“After my accident I was unable to leave the house at all, and I was desperate for food and help. I had nowhere to turn, so when the council pointed me in the direction of the volunteer service, it was absolutely life changing. I can’t praise the volunteers enough – they are kind, honest, cheerful and happy to help and they make me feel like nothing is too much trouble. I have been overwhelmed by the support.” Karen, Middlesborough
