One to Learn, One to Teach, One for Flavour

I had a client approach me this week saying that they had "fallen off the wagon" in terms of their training, mindset and nutrition.

They had gone from four days a week of training to one day a week. From positive self-talk to slightly negative self talk. From eating nutritious meals, to buying more meals out at lunch.

So should we grill them for it??

Absolutely not.

It's completely normal. We aren't robots who somehow can't get it wrong ever, or that our habits will be incredibly rigid once we get them in and they will never change. That's even if we've returned from holiday like my client did.

Not every week is going to be on the money. And we are not "back where we started" like she said. We actually took a lot of positives away from this.

She is still down 8kg from where she started. She is still lifting more weight and feeling really strong in the gym, from being incredibly anxious. She is still really positive and less stressed than she was before in her highly demanding executive job.

The point here is not to gloat about her (although I am immensely proud...). It's to preach SELF-COMPASSION.

To understand that she is not just adjusting to what life has thrown in the way, but that she is ENOUGH. Even though she's had one week which wasn't up to her preconceived standards.

I want you to understand that you can be ENOUGH and still LOVE YOURSELF if you can allow yourself to.

But you must do the work.
