One Investment that supersedes all others

One Investment that supersedes all others

The best investment you can make is one that “you can’t beat,” can’t be taxed and not even inflation can take it away from you.  What you should be putting your money into? The answer is: Yourself.

How to acquire the supreme of such an investment?

Ultimately, to make the most of your investment implies never stop gaining knowledge. The type of knowledge that improves yourself as a whole person, not only as an investor, trader, engineer, doctor…not only in a specific area of expertise.

In other words, anything that improves your own talents; nobody can tax it or take it away from you. If you have got talent yourself, and you’ve expanded it, you’ve got a tremendous asset that can return ten-fold.

Where to invest?

1. Knowledge - Never Stop Learning

Most people think learning stops once you obtain degrees and certifications; and that’s a wrong belief, actually, life should be about continuous learning, and there are many other ways to do it, you can learn by:

Surrounding yourself with the right people

“If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room.”

You will move in the direction of the people that you associate with. So, it's highly important to connect with people that are better than yourself.

Hence, make sure to associate with those further along the path who can potentially help you learn new things, grow, move forward, and advance your career. As the famous saying goes, we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.

Eliminating your bad habits

Warren Buffett once said:

"I see people with these self-destructive behavior patterns. They really are entrapped by them."

For succeeding learning process, you must overcome the bad habits that may be keeping you from achieving your full potential.

Attending Seminars and Workshops

Seminars, conferences, and workshops are excellent opportunities for investing in yourself for a few reasons.

First, these events help expand your knowledge in an area or field you’re already familiar with. Advancing your knowledge and skills can help you build expert status and make you more effective and productive in your current role.

They’re also great networking opportunities. Meeting and chatting with other professionals in your industry is a great way to make connections and meet other like-minded people, or find a mentor who can help you in your career.

Reading

Reading offers many important health benefits and is a great way to invest in yourself as it:

  • helps you build skills that can improve your career prospects
  • betters your brain activity
  •  helps you develop more empathy and compassion
  • increases your tolerance for uncertainty, which can help you take more risks at work that might pay off in your career.

2. Health: a state of mind and body

For a lifetime you only get one mind and one body. To let them ride for this long time, without being wreck 30 years later, you should take a good care of that body and that mind.

It’s important to take care of both your mind and body. It will pay off in many ways, including:

·      Allowing you to take charge of your life and feel good about the choices you make.

·      Gaining energy and feeling more fit.

·      Improving your physical health.

·      Gaining a positive outlook and finding more enjoyment in your life.

Any lifestyle change is a “work in progress.” Lasting changes take time. So, begin by setting small goals that are easy to add to your daily life and that you control. Wellness and fitness involve being aware and making healthy choices about diet, exercise, and staying positive. This is the most important investment you can make in your life. Strive for the best health you can have in all areas of your life by making mindful, healthy choices.

3. Communication skills

"If you can't communicate, it's like winking at a girl in the dark--nothing happens. You can have all the brainpower in the world, but you have to be able to transmit it. And the transmission is communication."
-Warren Buffett-

Investing in developing your communication skills - both in writing and in-person "can increase your value by at least 50 percent."

Finally, Investing in yourself means making small, continual improvements that enable you to do more, be more, grow more, and love more.

These little improvements can lead to immediate opportunities and long-term positive change. They can help you earn more money, discover the career you always wanted, follow your dreams, and uncover hobbies that fill you with joy. They’ll improve your health and relationships, make you a more interesting person, and lead to a better life.
