One Idea and Multiple Ways Of Implementing It

It's more than just an idea...it can become a way of changing your life!

That's what I've learned about being an entrepreneur for almost 10 years. March 4, 2023 with be the 10th anniversary of my business, LSMB Business Solutions. Up to that time, I am reflecting on the different things I've experienced during this almost ten year journey.

My goal is to encourage, educate, empower and expose those who are thinking about jumping into the entrepreneur pool

About two years into my journey, I signed on to follow Steve Harvey's "Act Like A Success" tribe. Following him, I learned he does one thing extremely well...he tells jokes. In telling jokes, he's mastered the way his jokes allow him to control his audience. I've seen it with my own eyes...it's magical. I've witnessed it!

If there was one thing during the two years I followed him that still impacts me today, it was watching him control the audience. I wanted to learn how to do that! It's taken me seven years of practice to get to a place where I feel like I can now do what I saw him do.

Last week, I was meeting with a young business owner who had hit the wall in her business. She was ready to fold up her tent and go home. She was in desperate need of a plan to pull her out of her despair. As a business strategist, I run into business owners like her, too often. Too many business owners think closing their businesses are the only answer when they hit a down cycle in their business. However, all businesses are cyclical. Throughout the year, there are ebbs and flows. Preparing for them means knowing what to do to pivot or tweak your business idea.

During my days with Steve, I was also introduced to Lisa Nichols. Lisa is that Sister from another mother, you can look up too. She easily becomes your mentor as she takes you by the hands. Lisa can help you to guide your thinking in a way that it serves you best. Lisa taught me that one idea can easily become multiple streams of income. It was that information that I shared with the young business owner who thought a down cycle in her business meant her business's life cycle and ended.

You see, Lisa introduced me to the philosophy of having multiple streams of income using one idea! It blew my mind! She had introduced Steve to the concept as his then-life coach. You only need one idea to create multiple streams of income. Lisa taught that 3-4 streams would allow you to live a comfortable life and 7-8 streams were needed to create generational wealth. I bought into the idea and have done exactly as she trained me to do.

When I meet new business owners who think they have to cook chicken, sell tires, babysit, paint houses, and do a million other things to live comfortably, I am quick to help them reign in that thinking. They are taught how to focus on the one thing they can do to get to the money multiple ways. I've included a partial list of suggestions below. With Lisa, my list consisted of 10 different things. Since then it has grown to over 23 different opportunities to generate revenue.

Just like I was, the first time I was introduced to this concept, my client's mind was blown. Together, we created a doable action plan for her to get the revenue she needs by doing a different thing doing her down season. And...because she was so passionate about her business, this new thing gave her new life! She was once again motivated to create and continue to build her season business. Closing was no longer an option.
