"There is one for everyone in the audience" - Along with millions today I mourn the loss of Gay Byrne. I pray the Lord will receive him into his heavenly home there to be at peace and I know He will. A Presenters Entertainers Prayer and candles lit for Gay Byrne the Greatest Irish Showman.....

As I walk through this life,

help me to create more laughter than tears,

dispense more happiness than gloom,

spread more cheer than despair.

Never let me become so indifferent

that I will fail to see the wonder

in the eyes of a child

or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.

Never let me forget that my total effort

is to cheer people, make them happy

and forget - at least momentarily -

all the unpleasantness in their lives.

And, in my final moment,

may I hear You whisper:

'When you made My people smile,

you made Me smile.' Amen......

Although everyone of us knew he was unwell, none of us can prepare for a loss so great such as Gay Byrne especially when it came so quickly inthe end. The sudden untimely passing of Ireland’s greatest Television and Radio legends Gay Byrne is having profound effect on all of us, as it should, as he was an amazing fearless and hardworking person and talent and an amazing person of Joy, Comfort, Laughter, Challenge, Hope, Honesty, Passion and Kindness to us all. He will always hold a special place in our hearts, especially of those of us who grew up over the past 40/50 years in ireland. Our deepest sympathy goes to Kathleen and all the Byrne family and all their friends and everyone in RTE and the Television, Radio and Showbiz Fraternity especially all his colleagues in RTE that soldiered with him on many stages throughout Ireland and our World over the years. Rest In Peace Gay, the world was and is a better place for you being in it and thank you for all the great good and joy you brought to us all.

"Somewhere in the early morning of eternity you are running free on the Television Screens of Heaven with your smile shining as brightly as ever on you. Loosed from the skirmishes and bonds of earth; unchained from all that bound you here. The years together were too brief, yet who is to measure time? Or how long is long enough. You brought Joy, Passion, Hope, Honesty, Humour, Laughter, Energy, Love, Entertainment, Music, Showbiz, Togetherness, Success, Passion and whispered Hope, To those who loved you the most. A single thread of darkness or loneliness pulled you beyond to the moment of now. We cannot fully understand nor shall we try, we simply know that in the vastness of all that is you are running free on the Television Screens and Entertainment Stage of all tomorrows. And a lone seagull calls to you and you respond with laughter. You carry now, no burden, no chain, nor bond to hold you. You carry only the warmth and the love of those who cared. So run free Gay and your fellow Presenters and Entertainers and loved ones who went before you and open your arms and touch the clouds and dance with the morning sun and know that even in our tears we celebrate with you as you enjoy the Televisions screens and stages of heaven and bid you good journey, till we meet again and we will always love you and thank you for your kindness, laughter, hope, joy, singing, honesty, hard work, charity, talents and passion for all things family, Televisions, Radio, RTE, Entertainment, Ireland and Life.
