If No One Engages with Your Content, Then No One Sees Your Content

Are you encouraging Employee Advocacy programs within your #SocialMedia strategy and execution? Well, you should be.

You know the the adage: If a tree falls in the wood and no one is there to hear it, does it make any noise? Well, the same holds true for your social media campaigns. If no one is engaging with your content, then no one sees it. Simple.

The easiest way to build engagement with your social media content is with your employees. A baseline program to build these capabilities is:

  1. Train them how how to optimize their LinkedIn profiles and to be active on the platform. (85%+ of corporate America is on LinkedIn. Leverage it.)
  2. Go beyond just posting on social media. Build campaigns instead. Saying you posted about something is not a campaign. You should be building a spiderweb of link backs and short form content. You need "Well-Orchestrated" campaigns that have defined roles for participants at scheduled times to drive conversations and visibility.
  3. Pilot a program and track results. Build unique hashtags in order to measure the impact of the pilot. Share the results with your team. Let them see how these activities positively impact the work they are doing.

After you build this baseline, you can expand to other platforms and leverage at conferences and trade shows.

At Knox Management Consulting, we have delivered employee advocacy programs (training thousands of executives) that have increased Share of Voice, helped drive sales initiatives and have provided millions of dollars of organic reach (over paid advertising). Ask us how we can build a program for you.
