ONE DRIVE NEW CAPABILITIES (WEB & MOBILE DEVICES)

Now it's time to catch some new capabilities of One-Drive after being too much sticky on Microsoft Teams!

In the recent months Microsoft has brought many changes in OneDrive and it's now become a beneficial tool for everyone to store the data in cloud.

So let me take you to the new OneDrive cloud features upcoming with Web Browsers & Mobile Devices (iOS, Android)

Mobile & Desktop Features

Scan faster and easier from Mobile devices (iOS & Android)

This feature already rolled out to all customers devices who are using the O365 Services.

It's really easy to scan your physical world from any of the Devices whether it's android or iOS. You can tap the floating button '+' to get the whole action items from both the devices.

Creating folders, flow rules, PowerPoint Presentation and Word Document is just as easy as taping the button given as per the devices optimised by the end users.

When you click the '+' button in your One Drive App within Android Devices, it will pop-up with all options which you find in this picture beside. As it is a Android Flavour it will show you with a different look and options will be available in a different in comparison with iOS Devices.

Here you will find to scan, take a photo or create a folder or upload directly to your One Drive account associated with O365. It looks different than your iOS Devices and you will get more options in iOS to create Word and PowerPoint. You will also find one more interesting feature of One Drive covering in next heading.

Sharing Hint Feature while browsing Shared Folders in Mobile & Desktop

Users are now getting an ease of use while working on a shared folders with other members. Now they will be able to see the Sharing hint option on to a particular shared folder which has been shared with other colleagues inside or outside the organisation

It has already being rolled out Mid July in Android Devices though was present in iOS earlier stage. You will also see the similar feature in your Desktop version as well through Web browser. This will be visible beside a shared folders in "people icon"

Block OneDrive Personal Accounts using Microsoft Intune

This feature already rolled out in July for protection of OneDrive account which accepts the policy of Microsoft Intune using Conditional Access policies.

Using Intune, the OneDrive apps will begin to respect the policy that will block users from connecting to their personal OneDrive accounts. You can enable this policy via the Intune console and we’ll begin respecting this policy with OneDrive Android to start.

It will be beneficial to protect the OneDrive and SharePoint Apps via using the Conditional Access Policies which comes under your Azure AD Premium Plans.

One Drive on Android Brought up Fingerprint App Protection

This feature has been rolled out within this month where Microsoft One Drive brings out Fingerprint feature to protect their OneDrive APP in addition to PIN code as well. For iOS Devices it was already available but now recently they came up with Android Devices where you'll be able to require 4-Digit PIN Code or Fingerprint option to unlock the OneDrive for Android App.

 If your device does not have a fingerprint reader, you will only see the pin code choice. This feature will begin rolling out in the next few weeks and should be available to all production customers by the end of July.

Web Features

File Hover Card Available in One Drive and Shared by me Tab

As a One Drive daily user, they might have seen this card which is visible in every sharing content done in OneDrive. This card will give you all details about who viewed it and who has edited it.

In the similar fashion you will find the same hover card now available in Shared by Me View. This allows you to quickly see what's happening on your shared files without opening the file or details pane.

View Original Feature

"View original" is now available in OneDrive and SharePoint Online. Available in OneDrive for Consumer for some time, you can now view your photos and images in OneDrive and SharePoint Online in their full high-resolution, without having to download the file.
