One delightful detail, at ATD International 2016, was seeing the distinguished Ken Blanchard work the crowd with a microphone, his presence, and the ability to tell a story. There is something unique to the old school rhetoric, pubic speaking, and story telling that is lost to the younger generations. We are a generation of images, moving images, technology; distractions from connecting with a person or persons. They are a generation of words, listening, and imagination. They consumed radio plays, exercised daily storytelling, over booze, a cigarette, and a campfire. Story, a storyteller, and an audience are the elements at play for the old guard. Well, we of the new guard take the knowledge from the past and apply it in the present. And in honor of our man Ken Blanchard, check out this cell phone video of a Ken story.
