One Day, One Story 2024

One Day, One Story 2024

Calling all Pratham Books’ reading champions to celebrate 20 years of joyful reading with One Day, One Story!?

This is a special year for us at Pratham Books as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. That’s two decades of ?sharing the joy of reading with millions of children around the world.?

Every September, we celebrate One Day, One Story (ODOS) to mark International Literacy Day. One Day, One Story is a volunteer-driven initiative to spread the joy of reading. Throughout the month, volunteers - our reading champions - conduct joyful storytelling sessions across India and the world. Reading sessions are held in government schools, community centres, libraries, apartment complexes, parks and any other spaces that our reading champions choose.?

Over the years, thousands of you have joined us to celebrate the joy of reading. And in this 20th year of Pratham Books, we want to invite you all again to join us in these celebrations

Together, let’s read: Kaise Bhagayein Bukhaar (Exam Fever) (A level 2 book - for young readers) and Goal! ( A level 4 book - for older readers). Both the books have been written originally in Hindi and then translated into multiple languages.?

Kaise Bhagayein Bukhaar? (Exam Fever) is written by Lovleen Misra and illustrated by Priya Kuriyan. It has been translated into English by Shabnam Minwalla. Exams are round the corner and Ma is down with a fever. Everyone is fussing over her, trying to make her feel better. Will her fever go away before the exams??

Goal! is written by Neha Singh and Sabah Khan and illustrated by Alafiya Hasan and Pyro Draws, and is inspired by the true story of the girls at Parcham Collective. Every Sunday, Heena watches a group of girls playing football from her window. She wants to join them. But convincing Ammi and Abbu is not going to be easy. Will she be able to join the team? Run, kick and score goals and experience freedom like never before?
