One Day (a bit) Like This - that's the Manc Spirit!

One Day (a bit) Like This - that's the Manc Spirit!

In 2007 me and few pals - Michael Reeves and Jeremy Smith - wanted to unite the business world with charity, by using the power of music, and the Y Factor challenge was born. It gave a stage to previously hidden talent (sometimes!) from within the dealmaking world, and raised huge amounts for charity over a number of years.

After a brief break we returned with a bang in 2019 with an amazing night at Gorilla in Manchester. We raised nearly £50k. Some of you even played in the band or came along to see it! But sadly, COVID put a stop to our 2020 plans.

However! This year, together with our mate Steven Lindsay, we have persuaded 36 brave performers from across the Manchester professional community to come together (virtually) to record a song to raise awareness and money for MancSpirit – a charity committed to improving the mental wellbeing of people in Greater Manchester through creativity and arts.

We've recorded One Day Like This by Elbow, a proper Manchester classic - and it deserves to be seen and heard. You might not know the performers and most are not regular singers ....but that doesn't matter!

We've had the kind assistance of Craig Fletcher Kev Whitehead Jake Fletcher John Lees and Jeremy's son CJ Smith in our endeavours and we have raised £10k so far.....but there's lots more to go for!

So for the world to see - here's the video. I think it will bring a smile to your face. All that I ask is that if you watch it, please please please donate something, anything, small or large, to MancSpirit - it will make a massive difference.

Here's the link to donate - https://lnkd.in/deAd5QK

And here's the video! Hope you enjoy it!
