Will One Day Of "Bad" Eating Ruin Everything?
Will one day of "bad" eating/drinking ruin everything?
Brilliant question and one we get asked all the time
There are occasions when you do just hang lose or you have a meal out
Perhaps you have a job where you need to socialise and drinking alcohol and eating out is something you have to do
OR maybe you have a string of social events coming up
Should you just give it all up and just re focus AFTER these events and have the attitude of what's the point if I cannot do it 100% then why bother
In short NO you keep going regardless but there are a few things you can do to help "damage" limitation
Because let's face it there will never be a PERFECT time, it just does not exist.
There are a few things that can help
1. Food
Keep everything else you CAN "control" tight get the rest of you food ON POINT!
Try to make the healthiest choices at a meal, avoid fried, and sautéed, and go for grilled or steamed
Pass up on the bread basket and perhaps decide on a healthy starter and main rather than a pudding
2. Water
Up the water consumption to help with digestion, and to rid any toxins from the alcohol and extra salt's and sugars in the food
Add in approx 500ml than you are used to
3. Exercise
If you can up this, and just try and get in an extra 15 minutes per day to keep you moving.
The main thing here is to get you burning some extra calories AND ridding your body of any toxins by sweating them out
4. Sleep
The most important thing is to be able to rest your body to allow it to recover.
Try not to eat anything about 1-1.5 hrs before bed to aid a good nights sleep
At the end of the day your progress will be a little slower BUT slow is better than no
We always say there is a time for go a time for slow but when it comes to your health there is never a time for no
If you take it on the chin that this will be a slower process and accept that a snails pace is better than no pace then you will be just fine
So don't panic, keep going, slow and steady as you win the race.
