One of the biggest myths in the fitness world is that you’re stuck to the "body type" you were born with.
And that this is what is going to determine whether you're overweight and out of shape, small & skinny or muscular from birth
False.
There are of course people out there, who have incredible genetics. Look at people like Usain Bolt, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michel Phelps
But for most of us, it’s just not relevant.
Unless you are trying to get to the top of a sport, your genetics are not going to play an enormous role in you getting and staying in shape.
It just becomes an excuse
"My metabolism is just so slow"
"I’m fat because that’s my body type"
"I can’t build muscle because I cannot put on weight"
If you're saying things like this, then you are giving up control and relieving yourself of responsibility.
Things like:
- Training volume, intensity, frequency, and type of training
- Quality AND quantity of nutrition
- Sleep and regulating hormone balance…
- Getting your overall activity up if you have a sedentary role
