One of the best businesses, you've never heard about.

Hope everyone is having a good week. I can't believe we are in March now.

The year is truly flying by, and for those based in the North, it feels like we have had six months of straight rain. I can't wait to see the start of spring and summer.

Last week, I had a bit of a technical malfunction with the email list growing. It became apparent I hit a daily limit of emails I can send.

This week, I want to showcase a business I only heard about last week.?Joseph James Furniture . When hearing about it, it blew my mind and took me back to when I started my first business, because the founders?are only 22.

Mission: Become the TK Maxx of Furniture,?

After speaking with James, they operate a Furniture Outlet specializing in Sofas, Dining, and Beds. They offer clearance stock from major retailers at heavily reduced prices, with free nationwide delivery within 7 days. They founded the company at the age of 18, each investing ￡2k.

They achieved just under ￡2 million in turnover last year through our 20,000 sq ft showroom in Stretford and online store.

They have recently opened our second location, a 90,000 sq ft retail space in Stockport, formerly a Debenhams store, with plans to open two more stores by the end of 2024.

The ex-Debenhams space is one of the largest retail footprints in the UK.

Forecast:

2023 Revenue: ￡2 million, gross ￡1.4 million

2024 Expected Revenue: ￡6 million, gross ￡4 million

To think they founded this business at 18 years old with ￡2k of savings each really blows my mind. To be so young and entrepreneurial is inspiring.

I have no doubt over the last 4 years they have learnt a lot and that this will stand them in incredible stead to make this business a success.

I like to think that I am very close to what is going on in the region and I have never heard of the business.

I spent last week with James, he's incredibly driven and a pretty good padel player as well. I wish their story continues to inspire others and they go on to be ridiculously successful.

This weekend is a massive one for Manchester - with Manchester United and Manchester City in the Derby. As a Liverpool Fan, I wish Manchester United the best of luck.

I think there are more Liverpool fans wanting United to win - than United fans themselves....
