One Aspect 'Ola' and 'Uber' should be Concerned About, Right Now!

Interacting with Ola and Uber drivers has consistently taught me the following aspects of how often they are being paid.

Uber usually pays it's drivers once a week and on the other hand, their procedures are pretty smooth to handle according to the drivers. While, Ola is pretty inconsistent about how they treat their drivers, with regards to payment. Though the drivers have to be paid everyday, with respect to their previous day's performance, sometimes they are not being aid the respective amounts and on the other hand, they are taking away the entire months commission in the beginning itself, rather taking it day on day basis, which is leaving drivers with zero balance in their bank accounts.

Considering all the above issues, usually most of the drivers are forcing consumers to pay only in cash or else are not bothering to cancel the ride and besides that they are charging extra cash, which is highly disappointing customer base of Ola and Uber. Though this might not seem like a huge threat in short term, it is an issue that deserves attention.

I totally agree with you also apart from what you have mentioned, both the agencies would have a better future when they? carry out proper background check and due diligence on the drivers before they are inducted in the fleet. Slowly ,i have started getting feed back that lady travelers are losing the confidence in these cab drivers as far as traveling alone at night is concerned. And if this trend continues then slowly ans surely? people would go back to Kali pili or other types of cabs. I feel both the agencies have forgotten that customers could only make them successful and this they should not forget, which is presently the case. May be one of the reasons for the misbehaviour? ?of the drivers is the fact of their frustation with the respective agencies

Neither Ola not the cabbies are passenger friendly. From my experience, the drivers are not angels too. Recently, I booked an Ola for 4.00 am to be taken to the airport. The app notified me of his arrival at the hotel. But he did not turn up at the Hotel. When I tried calling him, his phone was not reachable. He did not bother to call me either. After five minutes, he cancelled the trip, charging me extra fifty rupees for it. The next driver bothered to call me. The first question was “Ola money or cash?” The same is the case with Ola autos too. The drivers are slowly making their way ahead to kill OlaMoney.

Every Ola/Uber driver would visit a fuel station atleast once a day. The cab companies can tie up with HP/IOCL/BP to roll out fuel payment and cash withdrawal facility and the fuel station itself.

May be Uber or Ola shall design payment terms to drivers based on their needs. This may end up in multiple standardised options of payment terms but will create win win solution for both. Off course OLa/Uber will have to bear some earning effects on changing cash flow pattern.
