The One Area Of My Business I Limit Growth & Why!

The One Area Of My Business I Limit Growth & Why!

Read Time: Easy 3 minutes (with hints and tips along the way)

It is odd to find myself in the position of limiting growth in one area of my business.

I am an ambitious guy, sometimes to my own detriment. I have spent a career looking at what is the next move and never looking back.

By doing so you probably think I am impacting;

1/ Revenue

2/ Social Proof

3/ Opportunity

You might be right, but I am ok with that, even though I love doing it. I can hear you asking what is it that I limit and why?

The one area I limit in Auden Hospitality is Concept Development.

I only ever take one concept project at any one time, and this is why;

?? You need to immerse yourself in the Founder's vision

?? You need to fully understand the market in which the brand will operate

?? They are more emotive than the other parts of our work

?? They require more time

?? They are often a journey of creative focus

?? You can present all the data you like, but deep down, its about creativity and vision

You can see the four stages, four transitions and four reasons of how we develop concepts in this Fly Wheel.

This is the process we adopted when we collaborated with Adam Simmonds on his new venture.

But why do I limit how many projects we collaborate on at any one time?

It's simple, when we are entrusted with someones vision, we must show it the respect it deserves.

We fully immerse ourselves in the concept to develop a brand that will anchor its place in the market, stand the test of time and truly disrupt the landscape it calls home.

So back to those points from earlier;

1/ Revenue

Actually it doesn't, limiting growth in this part helps me focus on my core business helping Founders and Operators grow their businesses by thinking differently.

2/ Social Proof

I often think social proof in hospitality isn't the testimonial or pictures on your website, its the concepts that you can visit, touch and experience.

Creating concepts that stand the test of time is more important to me.

3/ Opportunity

Opportunity comes from sharing knowledge and enhancing our partners businesses, most of our business comes from LinkedIn (where I share knowledge daily) or from our clients, to me, thats much more sustainable.

So if you are thinking about bringing your idea to life (a little like we did with Chestnut Bakery), reach out and let's connect, I would love to share more about how we work using our Fly Wheel process.

If this is something you are ready to do, email me directly [email protected]

Thats all for this week, see you next time.

Thank you for reading this far, I hoped you enjoyed seeing our process, there is more to Auden than concept development, in fact, this isn't our core, this is how we help clients everyday;

1/ We collaborate with Founders and Operators to create strategic plans to help their businesses grow - people like Homies On Donkeys

2/ We work with new Founders to implement systems and processes to make sure they are set up for success - people like Al Abraaj Restaurant Group

3/ We create tools and resources for Founders and Operators in the hospitality industry through Auden Resource Hub - check out our templates here
