OnCore Golf buys land for downtown entertainment center

OnCore Golf , a Buffalo-based golf ball and related technologies company, has purchased a downtown Buffalo property for its proposed golf-anchored entertainment center project.
It originally was part of plans initially announced in 2019 to build a sports and entertainment-related complex downtown. But then the pandemic hit.
Now, OnCore Golf, based at 19 Elm St., Buffalo, is developing its own project, which will include two roughly 40,000-square-foot entertainment centers, one in Buffalo and one in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Longtime Olcott popcorn stand closes
Bye’s Popcorn in Olcott has closed – at least temporarily — following the death of longtime owner Patricia Drews. The popcorn stand has been in operation for 100 years, selling half a dozen varieties of fresh-popped corn from a roadside stand a few miles from Lake Ontario. ?|? Read more

When Bob Carbone and his fellow business partners hatched the idea for Basecamp, a small rental home village in Ellicottville, they got excited about the design and aesthetic of tiny homes.
“(We all) spend a lot of time in Ellicottville,” he said. “We knew the growth there has just been incredible within the last five to 10 years. … We thought there was a market there for something that wasn’t a hotel but something more than just building town homes.”

Elmwood Small Animal Hospital rebrands after sale
A longtime North Buffalo veterinary hospital has changed hands and rebranded as it prepares to expand. Founded in 1947 as Elmwood Small Animal Hospital, the practice has been renamed the North Buffalo Animal Hospital following an acquisition in June by Dr. Reed Stevens and Dr. David Gurzak.? |?
