Once in a while we’ll fall into the slime

Every year we reminisce

We think of all the things that we wished

Some we attained and did not fall short

Some were plans we did abort

But through it all, the fears we did tame

And we can be proud that we played the game

But then one day we start anew

We create new plans, both me and you

We can try new things; we can aim for new heights

On new endeavors, we set our sights

New challenges will come, new mountains we’ll climb

And once in a while we’ll fall into the slime

My prayer for you is that you begin new campaigns

The bigger the challenge, the higher the gains

I can write poems, I can make you think twice

But my 2021 resolution is to take my own advice

So here’s to 2021, to the leaves we will turn

To the people we’ll meet, and the lessons we’ll learn
