Once upon a time ...

Once upon a time ...

Sometimes we end up looking back at our lives and the choices we made. We can always find some patterns in our decision making. Some of these patterns are quite obvious and easy to identify. And, some of these are hidden. They need to be unraveled.

What are these patterns?

There are two possibilities:

1. Our mental blocks - our limitations which dictate our choices.

2. Our core- our belief system and values basis which we make our choices.

No choice or a decision is wrong till the time we regret it. So let’s not bring the aspect of choices being right or wrong. Its subjective. To each his/ her own :)

Now the question is - which of these patterns are good for us and should be retained?

The first one is backed by fear (and insecurities resulting in mental blocks) and the second one is backed by courage (that is, the decision to follow our values and principles no matter what!).

Irrespective of what we gain or lose tangibly, the second pattern based on our core is something which will help us grow. And this is the pattern we should stick to.

While the first one (blocks dictated pattern) will take us even farther down the road of fears and spiritual loss, the second one (pattern influenced by belief system) will make us feel free. It will make us invincible. Because we will be able to respect ourselves.

This second pattern is our moral identity and define who we are. It’s our true character. Closer our decisions are to this one, simpler and happier our lives will be.
