On-Q - The Journey To Product Launch
This Wednesday (11am, Geelong, Australia time) we will hold the last webinar for 2020. If you want to join us please register here.
It will be a half hour in which we catch up on the development progress of the sensing mat system we call On-Q. This week the time zone is set to make it easy for people in the US to attend. Last week was the turn of the Europeans. (If you don't have time to be involved in the live event, you can always watch the recording. Here is the link to last week's webinar).
Most of the real action takes place after the webinar, where we are able to follow up in person with people who want to know more about the concept and the technology. Last week was no exception. We are now working toward putting in place the first installation in Germany of On-Q Count. We are still at the Proof Of Concept point for On-Q Count, and as soon as the first prototypes are manufactured in January, they will head over to Europe. I am hoping that we will have orders in place in Australia by then too. It looks pretty certain now that the first of the original On-Q products, will be installed in the US round about the same time.
The webinar concept is proving to be a great way to communicate with people too. Our media advisor, Richard McKinnon, made a very interesting observation after last week's episode. We run the webinars using Zoom, with relatively constrained bandwidth - because Australia is still operating in 20th century conditions when it comes to telecommunications. Yet, remarkably, we never get any latency on the call - which is totally unlike live TV news where you see the anchor throwing to the journalist on the other side of the world, and have to wait an uncomfortable number of seconds watching dead air, while the signal goes back and forth.
