On-Page SEO #4

It's easy to dismiss on-page SEO as a waste of time and many do to their cost and instead throw their budget behind link building instead, which is a mistake and ultimately a wasted budget.

It’s important to optimise any site for your visitor, after all, that's what Google wants, the best customer experience. By doing it correctly, your site can be found easier in the search engines, and you're going to get more visitors, It's as simple as that.

However, this newly won traffic is only the first part of the SEO equation, the second part being the conversion.

As the name suggests, this converts visitors into engaged visitors through them taking some form of positive action on your site, this, in turn, leads to opportunity and eventually into sales and customers.

You can’t be successful online if don’t have both of these constituent parts of the equation working in tandem, so If you want your website to appear high in the search engines and turn visitors into raving fans of your brand in the process, then on-page SEO is just as essential as traffic generation and should be part of any SEO process.

My final point about on-page SEO is a really important principle which, again, many overlook, and it is that search engines rank webpages, not websites, so targeting each and every page as an individual digital asset will help you to target a distinct group of keywords for each page.

This helps to concentrate topics to each relavant page with minimal cross-over, and is more likely to get greater visibility for your site, but more importantly avoids keyword cannibalisation, which is a common problem, especially on eCommerce sites.

Ultimately, On-Page SEO is a process that needs to be applied when doing any form of SEO and without it, you're just having to pay more money on link building which may not be the solution and will ultimately cost you more.
