On May 10, 1933, Omron was founded by Kazuma Tateishi in Osaka City, Japan with the mission “at work for a better life, a better world for all.” For 90 years, Omron has grown and expanded into a global leader within the four business categories industrial automation, healthcare, social systems, and electronics components. As the world has grown and evolved, Omron keeps pace growing and evolving but at the heart of the company is innovation and community.?
Throughout the company’s history, Omron has established and committed to a mission “to improve lives and contribute to a better society”. Omron is striving towards their goal through innovated solutions that help solve climate change and achieve carbon neutrality, as well as the aging society and widening economic disparity among individuals with reliable, renewable, and sustainable energy products. Omron’s drive for innovation is the dedication of community and fully embracing the mission statement. ?
Omron has established an extensive community outreach program within the community. From supporting education and environmental initiatives to promoting social welfare and healthcare, Omron continuously works to make a positive impact on the world.?

It is these core values that Omron has established at the creation of the company 90 years ago that drives the employees focus and success.?A way to honor Omron’s origins is Founder’s Day.?Every year on May 10th, approximately 30,000 Omron employees all around the world celebrate the founding of the company by participating in volunteer events.?To mark the 90th year milestone, Founder’s Day has been extended for the entire month of May becoming Founder’s Month.?There will be a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from virtual, in-person, fundraiser, and drive events.?Available all year round, Omron is encouraging and providing even more possibilities to participate during Founder’s Month and engage with community partners and support the company’s principles and mission statement.?There are opportunities to volunteer for to sort books with Bernie’s Book Bank, help with on site home build with Habitat for Humanity, a virtual story reading with Marklund, food packing at Northern Illinois food bank, and many, many more!
Founder’s Month is a fulfilling and exciting occasion for Omron and the employees to be able to live out the ability to “improve lives and contribute to a better society”. Closing with a brief statement from CEO and President of Omron Electronic Components-Americas, Jeff Rogers on the importance of May 10th and now the month of May is for the company.?“On May 10th, 1933, Omron was founded, and every year on that day, Omron employees worldwide celebrate by participating in volunteer events. However, to celebrate Omron's 90 years, Founders Day has been extended through May, becoming Founders Month! “Founders Month at Omron is always important and a great reminder about Omron’s commitment to giving back to our communities. This year is a little bit extra special as we all celebrate Omron’s 90th anniversary. May we all find a way to help a charitable organization or individual in need by sharing our time and/or our resources. Thanks for being such a great part of the OCB-AM team and what we stand for!”
