The Omni Hotel Project

Planters Unlimited collaborated with the renowned design firm Jeffrey Beers International to create custom Modern Fiberstone planters in the Chenza finish, specifically tailored to enhance the design of a remodeled restaurant’s patio seating area. Situated in downtown San Diego near Petco Park, a bustling tourist destination, the project required thoughtful solutions to establish clear spatial boundaries while maintaining a cohesive and inviting aesthetic in a high-traffic urban environment.

Engineered for both performance and aesthetics, the planters were constructed from durable, weather-resistant Fiberstone, ensuring their longevity despite the demands of outdoor use in a busy metropolitan setting. Each planter was equipped with hidden casters to allow easy repositioning, complemented by a custom locking system that securely connected the units once placed. This innovative design offered flexibility for adapting the layout while ensuring stability and alignment in the seating area.

To further enhance functionality, removable metal screens were fabricated to fit precisely within the planters. These screens provided versatile options for privacy, spatial separation, or added visual interest, aligning with the restaurant's need to create an intimate yet dynamic outdoor space. The screens could be easily installed or removed, allowing the property to adapt to evolving needs, whether for private events or day-to-day operations.

Strategically arranged along the perimeter of the restaurant's patio, the planters not only served as a design feature but also as a practical boundary. This thoughtful placement created a welcoming yet secure environment for patrons, effectively separating the space from the surrounding bustling city streets. The project highlights the versatility of Fiberstone combined with integrated metalwork, showcasing Planters Unlimited’s expertise in crafting adaptable, durable, and visually cohesive solutions for high-demand commercial spaces.
