OMNI Employee Spotlight Q&A - Isaiah

What inspired you to join OMNI Technologies, and how has your journey been so far?

I was inspired to join OMNI by the close-knit culture the employees displayed and the leadership. I am both excited and proud to work for a black owned USG contracting company. Thus far, my journey has been nothing short of amazing. I am eternally grateful for all the things I’ve learned and the opportunities I have been afforded as an OMNI employee.

What do you find most fulfilling about your role at OMNI?

The most fulfilling aspect of my career at OMNI is the sense of accomplishment I get from the company and customers I am supporting. I always feel like my support and ideas are valued.

As a valued member of our Project Management and Information Assurance teams, how do you feel you contribute to the overall mission and goals of OMNI Technologies?

I contribute to the overall mission and goals of OMNI by mentoring / coaching junior Information Assurance team members, supporting business development initiatives (i.e., white papers & RFPs), constantly looking for ways to expand our customer base, and supporting the sales arm of the company through demonstrations of OpenRMF? Professional.

One of our core values at OMNI is continuous learning and development. How has the company supported your professional growth, and what opportunities have you taken advantage of?

OMNI has supported my professional growth by designating me a functional lead and allowing me to support the rollout of the OpenRMF? value added reseller process. I have taken advantage of continuous learning through company initiatives to maintain my professional certifications such as my CISSP & Sec+ CE.

Can you share a meaningful experience where you felt you made a positive impact on a colleague, team, or the organization as a whole?

Recently I was asked to help guide some junior team members through the development of a white paper on a topic they had very little knowledge of. Through some coaching and instruction, they developed and delivered a very good product on time. I was very proud of the team and how well they handled the request with short notice. The final result was used to support a future customer engagement.

What sets OMNI Technologies apart from other companies you've worked with in the past, and how does the company culture contribute to your success?

The items I mentioned in the first question about what drew me to OMNI initially are what I feel set us apart from other places I’ve worked; the culture, the leadership, and the company benefits (*smile*). The culture contributes to my success with its willingness to help and by being fully inclusive. Any employee can ask anyone in the company, from the CEO to a colleague, for support without hesitation and will get the support they need or direction on how to get it. I also appreciate that the leadership is okay with individual contributors asking questions or respectfully challenging their perspective when we feel necessary. Lastly, I have a family so benefits are very important to me and these are the best company benefits I have seen of any company.

How do you perceive OMNI Technologies making a difference in the industry or the lives of its customers?

OMNI makes a difference in the industry and lives of our customers by providing high quality products. We consistently meet or are ahead of our deadlines. We achieve this by utilizing a proprietary repeatable process to produce the necessary products and provide the necessary services to reach the customer goals efficiently.

What does OMNI Technologies' vision statement "Innovation Is Our Culture" mean to you? How do you embody this motto in your day-to-day work, and why do you think it's essential for the company's success?

The OMNI vision statement “Innovation Is Our Culture” means that we as an organization must constantly improve while looking for new and more efficient ways achieve company and customer goals. I embody this everyday by doing exactly that; looking for way to reach goals faster with less error. This idea is essential to the company’s success because if we do not evolve, we will eventually fall behind our competition and become obsolete.

What advice would you give to prospective OMNI candidates?

I would tell any future OMNI candidate that this is a great place to work. I would also encourage them to speak with leadership as their professional aspirations change because the company will always support employee development and growth. The better you are professionally, the better we are as a company, the better we can support our customers.?
