Ominous rugby development

New Zealand and South Africa keep playing regardless of the score or time in the game. Australia kept playing against England. It may seem a trite comment to make, but New Zealand and South Africa seldom show signs of distress, let alone panic. To a man, they cope with pressure and keep playing what's in front of them. This trait runs throughout both squads. It has become part of their DNA. This environment is a fertile place for new and younger players, allowing them to express themselves in a relevant way that demonstrates both their skill and an understanding of how and when they can contribute.

Wallace Sititi is such a player. He has both personal and positional skills. He keeps playing. Will Jordan's read of situations is so astute he will continue to score tries? Wherever you play him.

Overcoaching of emerging young talent can be counterproductive. The construction of coaching sessions needs to include more game-related decision-making games that encourage young and new squad members to contribute.

Some players in losing teams were rooted to the spot as the game went on around them, over the weekend.
