Oman's PDO reports large gas find
Oman Petroleum Development's managing director said the find will provide a boost to Oman's economy.
Oman Petroleum Development has reported a significant gas find in Oman’s Mabrouk fied, with an estimated 4 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of recoverable gas and 112 million barrels of condensates, according to the sultanate’s state-run Oman News Agency.
The announcement came during an annual media briefing conducted by the Ministry of Oil and Gas. No further details of the find, which took place in the northern part of OPD’s concession area.
“This is an exciting find which will provide a boost for economic growth in Oman and help meet rising gas demand from residential, commercial and industrial customers,” PDO managing director Raoul Restucci was quoted as saying by Muscat Daily.
