Olympic Athletes All Have Coaches and So Should You

Olympic Athletes All Have Coaches and So Should You

Hello my dear BIPOC pioneers!?

From the time we’re youngins, we surround ourselves with teachers and mentors.

Our parents send us to Kumon even when we hate math so we can improve our math skills.

We have sports coaches and music teachers to teach us how to master our skills and crafts.

And as we continue on in life, we continue to acquire teachers, mentors, and advisors as we go to college and trade school, sometimes trying out a few until we find the right one for us!

So tell me why when it comes to getting support to learn how to start, grow, and scale a business, we somehow think we can do it all on our own. ??

It’s like there’s shame attached to getting help for our business – ”I shouldn’t need help.”?We think it’s unnecessary, and a waste of time and money. So we tell ourselves, “I’ll just watch a course” and magically things should work out right?

How’d that turn out?

Seriously though, what are we doing? Why are we making it so difficult on ourselves? I totally understand that in the last couple of years, people have gone from “what is a coach?” to “everyone and their mother is a coach.”

Still, the fastest path to anything is finding someone who has done what you want to do and having them show you how to do it.?I realize that many of us have been burned by coaches (myself included!). But the question isn’t “should I hire a coach?”… rather the question to ask “who is the right coach for me?”

One thing I have learned about working with my fair share of coaches is that you 100% need to work with someone who shares your values, your vibe, and IMO, has done and has been successful in doing what you want to do. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather be coached by someone who’s been there and done that vs. someone who knows something in theory… but hey that's me.

Curious to know more about my coaching style and programs? Early enrollment for my signature Foundations to Freedom coaching program is now open with a group of clients already making Olympic size moves in their businesses!

Cheers to the coaches, mentors, advisors, and advocates who support us. Let’s go build our liberatory futures together!

In solidarity,

Coaching is essential! I think so often what tends to happen is that we don't normally see a full process or system that coaches employee and in the age of "self-help" we don't really hear that self-help means finding the resources, inclusive of mentors and coaches, to help support us!
