Sustainability is a significant part of Toyota’s commitment to building a better world. This is underscored by its Environmental Challenge 2050 by which point the company aims to achieve carbon neutrality globally – and by 2040 in Europe.
Toyota’s multi-path strategy is at the core of its fleet for Paris 2024, which in total comprises 2,650 (!) battery electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell vehicles. What’s more, it’s providing 700 electric mobility solutions for the “last mile.”
Toyota is convinced that Hydrogen is a major pillar for creating a low-carbon and sustainable “Hydrogen Society.” That’s why the company has also placed Hydrogen at the center of its mobility concept for the Olympics and Paralympics. During the 2024 Games in Paris, Toyota is presenting its vision of sustainable, Hydrogen-driven mobility in a robust ecosystem. In addition to the 500 Toyota Mirai being supplied, there are buses, trucks, boats, forklifts and bikes with H2 propulsion. Toyota expects that demonstrating the feasibility of Hydrogen mobility solutions at Paris 2024 will promote broader adoption of Hydrogen infrastructure.
Another thing Toyota is assured of is that anything is possible when people have freedom of movement. In line with its “Mobility for All” vision, Toyota has developed advanced and environmentally friendly mobility solutions especially for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. The solutions cover a broad range of areas, for example a mobile toilet for wheelchair users, the APM (Accessible People Mover), a fully electric “last-mile” vehicle, and the Yosh-E e-puller wheelchair, 50 of which are being supplied to the Paralympic Village.
