I woke up so lucky today!?
"Wow, is this how people wake up wealthy?", I thought to myself. How else could I explain that I happened to bear the same last name as the benefactor of an unclaimed inheritance of $30 Million dollars?
Don't raise your brow in mockery at that email. You, indeed! The inheritance scam is far from over.
They wouldn't be mass mailing people to try to scam them if this scam format was truly dead.
You'll be surprised, and an older, very optimistic, and hopeful person may still believe that this email is genuine and that good fortune has shone on them.
I know it was obvious to many of you that this was a scam email, but would it be as obvious to your mother, father, uncle, or aunty who has only recently begun exploring the digital world? Will your relative understand that the emotion at work here is greed?
Will they ask questions like, "How did Mr. Agbo happen to find me?" Why is Mr. Agbo being so kind by giving me all this money because of this supposed coincidence? Why is he compelled to contact me because I have the same last name as the next of kin, but he never refers to me by my last name in the email?
Today, I challenge you to do more than read my email, laugh, and shrug it off. Use it to initiate a conversation with someone you know who may still be a victim of this scam.
Please share any phishing emails you receive with me via my direct messages, and let's learn about phishing on a weekly basis. Don't get phished and see you next week on Friday!
