The Big Hearts for Seniors events at Michigan Medicine is a heartwarming celebration that brings together touching and inspirational oral storytelling performances. This events, hosted by the Geriatrics Center at Michigan Medicine, aims to provide critical resources to six social service organizations that serve older adults in the community.

There’s always time for a fruit cocktail!

Summer is right around the corner – begin perfecting your fresh fruit cocktail recipe now! Here’s a sweetly spiced creation to get you started.?

Ingredients:

·???????? 2 cups apple juice

·???????? 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

·???????? ? tsp. grated orange zest or lemon zest

·???????? 2 cinnamon sticks (3-inch)

·???????? 2 Red Delicious apples, cored and chopped

·???????? 1 ? cups fresh pineapple, chopped

·???????? 1 orange, peeled and sectioned

·???????? ? cup seedless grapes

Directions:

1.??????????? Combine apple juice, lemon juice, orange or lemon zest, and cinnamon sticks in a medium saucepan. Heat to a boil and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.

2.??????????? Cool to room temperature.

3.??????????? Combine apples, pineapple, oranges, and grapes in a large serving bowl.

4.??????????? Remove cinnamon sticks from juice mixture and pour over fruit.

5.??????????? Chill before serving.
