Old wine is always better ??

Old wine is always better ??

The age-old question - 'Aren't you too old for .......?'

Sure, when I was younger

  • My hair was thicker yet my confidence was shallower
  • My body was lighter but the mind was heavier with anxiety
  • I remembered everything yet forgot to cherish the memories
  • They used to tell me that those were the best days of my life.

Really?

  • Now they tell me my best days are behind me! but, no my friends – I'm living my best days in the second half of my life and not ready to pack my bags!
  • My hair is mostly grey but I am wiser, better informed, can evaluate better, more self-aware, empathic, and carry the wisdom of many years......

“The afternoon knows what the morning never suspected.” ― Robert Frost

To those who think they are old - Stop acting your age and start using the wisdom it has given you because age is just a number & most importantly ageing is your true second chance and not a problem unless you dreamt of being a 100-metre Olympic sprinter at your age!!

“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.” - Sophia Loren

Worth Noting!

  • Winston Churchill became England’s prime minister at the age of 62
  • Colonial Sanders was 65 years old when he started Kentucky Fried Chicken
  • A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada - the founder of the Hare Krishna movement in the western world was 69 years old before he started the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)
  • Takichiro Mori - was an economics professor until he left academia at age 55 to become a real estate investor in 1959. When Mori died in 1993 at the age of 89, he was Forbes’ two-time reigning world’s richest man with a net worth of around $13 billion.
  • V.S. Achuthanandan - Former Kerala chief minister became the chairman of Administrative reforms in Kerala when he was 93, served as the chairman of Administrative reforms in Kerala from 2016 to 2021. BTW he was 83 when he became the CM
  • Last but not least Nirad C. Chaudhuri: for those who don't know about this Bengali gentleman, you will be amazed when you look him up!

All these people had a glorious second half!

So, it's all in the mind, consider this phase a mid-life renewal and not a crisis. The second half of this game is much more interesting and rewarding than the first half and for this to happen, eagerly lookout for what's next and you will definitely recognize the opportunities.

Being overqualified or Your age being the barrier is just corporate jargon!

In the first half of your life you have surely invested an enormous amount of time honing your skills and in the process, developed and redeveloped yourself through many rounds of learning, unlearning and relearning and for what? To sit back in the second half of your life and do nothing with that priceless skill, experience, wisdom? Midlife is not too late: The mid-career crisis can be a spurred into radical, vitalizing change. Life is beautiful at any age, the problem with most of us is that we don't know where to look!

WHEN DID YOU LAST TELL YOURSELF: I HAVE MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP??

BTW we need to strongly believe this! The second half of your life is your time to rock and roll - it's time to Disco :)

Dedicated this to those who think age is a barrier in their life, are experiencing a mid-life career crisis and have concluded retired life to be the best option.

On the contrary, you are like priceless mature wine!

Taking this occasion to share with you one of my digital art :)

Wishing you a better tomorrow, stay healthy and stay safe!
