The old way of selling is OVER…
But despite our rapidly changing world, the new way is alive and BOOMING.
As many of you will know I own Cross Productions, an East Midlands based marketing business.
Before the pandemic our team used to spend entire days cold calling and attending networking events.
The way we do business has changed across pretty much all sectors and people just don’t want to be approached in the same was as they were before.
From the start of April we decided as a company to research more contacts on LinkedIn. A service we carry out successfully for numerous clients already.
In a 3-month period, we have onboarded 28 new clients and seen 32 previous clients return to Cross for us to carry out some form of paid marketing for them.
Throughout April and May, pretty much the whole team were furloughed meaning this was all on my head.
As our team came back to work in June we have continued to engaged in conversations and attend selected virtual networking events. This time we ensured we followed up on interesting contacts.
After much trial and error, we have refined a customised process to generate new, qualified leads through LinkedIn.
Spending the majority of time building personal brand awareness, trust and rapour we nurture relationships and open up the opportunity to do business through engaging conversation.
As a business our pipeline is almost always full and we surpassed our monthly sales target within 2 weeks — all through using LinkedIn and a structured process.
As Area lead for the FSB and as an Entrepreneur in Residence for DMU It’s a passion of mine to support small business owners. This is why I wanted to share with you how effective LinkedIn as a platform can be when you know how to use it properly.
Anyone looking for support with running their LinkedIn account or would like to learn how to do this for themselves please drop me an inbox and I will happily take time to have a 121 call with you, helping in any way I can.
The world is starting to turn again and as 99% of the business community is made up of SMEs I am adamant I will do my part in helping as many businesses ride through this and remain feeding our local economy.

4 年Totally agree, the old way of working for every sector has changed, and being able to communicate with partners, clients, service users or funders involves some form of social media. But more important than communicating, getting the message right is imperative - which is where Cross Productions Limited come in. Having been on the Linked in training with Sally Smith in March, I can honestly say it has improved my understanding of Linked in, as well as other platforms. The teams willingness to provide ongoing support and critique for my comms has been an investment well worth it. Thanks guys and keep up the great work.
