Old school recruiting, YA DEAD TO ME!

The market has changed, everything has changed. COVID-19 has changed everything! Some for worse, some for the better. As a Director of Operations, it's part of my job to help grow the business and help make a disturbance in the industry that I'm in.

HIRING NEW TALENT SHOULD MEET THE NEEDS OF THE NEW TIMES

I just sent out an offer letter, and this was my process. (not to brag.... but ... yeah... I'am)

Feb 1st: I recognized amazing talent on LinkedIn. Sent her a communication about the job

Feb 3rd: She emailed me back to set up a time to speak.

Feb 5th: Had a LOVELY discovery call to see if her skills fit with our needs. And to see if our culture is a fit for her.

Feb 8th: Introduced her to the CEO and had another follow-up discovery call.

Feb 9th: Made her an offer.

Feb 10th: She countered, and we came to a conclusion that made sense for both parties.

10 days... 10 days......... say it louder for the people in the back. 10 DAYS is all it took for us to recognize talent, compliment her talent with our goals. Added value to an offer and locked down the deal. When I was on the prowl for a new job to lift my talents. I applied and didn't hear back for a month. By the time they wanted to do a first interview, I had already accepted this amazing job. (Sorry bout it!)

In this crazy time, the American work force culture needs to shift to demands and be able to meet people where they are. Don't drag your feet on talent! During COVID-19 We need to be able to hire people properly that will allow the American work force to thrive again.
