I decoded the algorithm, ninja’d past the recruiter and scored an actual meeting. But now that I’m here … You just see what you fear for yourself, weak and frail, close to death.

Nonetheless, I’m here at your desk, an old pro at so many things.

The data points I’ve finessed would take your breath. Childbirth and loneliness. Heartbreak and death. Marriage and murder. Exchange rates, snows, the scorpions and toads. All the coffee and whiskey. Night club dervishes and sunrise services. Constellations south and north, full moons, countless comets and solar eclipses. Cosmos with caviar and the all-you-can-eat chowder bar. Business suits and cowboy boots. Yachts and cots. Hollywood, center stage, my list of friends who died of AIDS.

We’ve traveled we have, and we know the score.

We play to be fair, not just to win. Who’s watching out for the other guy’s success and who knives his own buddy and watches him spin? Who has captained the ship, manned all the stations, navigated obstacles to top destinations? Who will you trust? Think I’m not strong or healthy enough? Think I’ve lost my drive? Brother, I’m stronger each time I touched the sky. Fearless. But not afraid to cry. The only way forward is through, so who you gonna trust your venture to?
