The Old Man and AI Hemingway

There is a lot of information rolling around in the noggin of an AI, but the product that comes out sometimes lacks much plot and is blessedly free of temporal concerns or boundaries between reality and fiction. I have been studying artificial intelligence for background in my admin work. Here is a spot of AI Hemingway quasi-storytelling. Here goes:

"The fish was eaten by sharks and Santiago The Elderly Fisherman fell asleep.

Many traditional peoples fear bad luck, especially fishing communities and in Cuba this is sometimes referred to "salao." Manolin knew Santiago well and would sometimes bring him food, likely a Cuban dish surprisingly similarly to much of the dishes found in islands such as Puerto Rico.

One day a young man named Manolin was discussing the American baseball player Joe DiMaggio (briefly married to Marilyn Monroe, who now is buried next to Hugh Hefner and may be haunting him) with a fisherman named Santiago. Santiago was 84 years old, considered in most societies as elderly

It was Joe Dimaggio who brought roses to Marilyn's Grave.

Then the fish was eaten by sharks and the fisherman fell asleep. The fish was a marlin. It was quite heavy. It was caught and towed by the fisherman who was rather elderly.

The night was dark. The marlin was heavy. The old man felt respect for the heaviness of the fish.

Out to sea went the boat. It was shorter than the fish. The fish was a marlin. Respect and affection filled the heart of the fisherman who was elderly.

The fisherman fell asleep but did not dream about the marlin, who was attacked by the sharks.

The fisherman put a harpoon, a very sharp weapon used also in the novel Moby Dick, which has several themes similar to those in this story and also symbols, into the marlin. Watch out! A shark!

Many sharks came and created a marlin skeleton, which are sometimes mistaken by sea-visiting tourists for a shark skeleton. It was eighteen feet long, per the person who measured it. There have been some even larger spotted by the U.S. Coast Guard.

"I am sorry, Marlin, my friend. You are very brave and I respect you," said the old man.

The above is dialog."
