Old Man and 6 Kids

?The old man had two kids, but he dreamt of having grandkids. He could not complete his life without them. He would slip away in his sleep, and he dreams of having these grandkids in his life, but each time he awoke, he was alone with no one around. As he lay in his humble bed, he thought about the kids he had hope for until he fell off to sleep. His serial dreams continued each time he went to sleep. He did not mind this because it gave him something to look forward to. He could see them as they played in his bed and chatted with him—all six of them. He knew all their names.

The oldest, he called King David. He was tall and slim with a great smile, and is sibling gs looked up to him as their protector, and then there was Harmony. She was bossy, sassy, but warm. She pretended that she did not need the attention the others gave her. She seemed sad but brightened up when they came to her for advice. She was in charge and, like King David, fiercely protective of her brothers and sisters. There was Ava. She was the pretty one, flirty, and fragile, and she was going to be a movie star for sure. She acted like one, and Quinn, the dancer. He hopes to choreograph his dance moves and even direct himself or Ava.

Then came the doctor in the house, Deckyn. I called her Dr. Jeckle because she always had her doctors’ kit out, poked her siblings with her injector, checked their temperature, and asked them about their health. And lastly, Edan was the youngest and demanded all their attention, his smile lit up the room, and he ate anything that was lying around. I guess he would be a fullback or running back in football or maybe a Chef so that he could make his meals.

The old man awoke one morning, and what he saw amazed him. He cried long tears. All six kids were surrounding him as he lay wide-eyed on his modest bed. In unison, they all chimed in, “Good Morning,” Grandpa. It was quite a moment. With tears flowing down his cheeks, he responded. His voice shaky, “Hello, children. I have been waiting for you all my life.”
