The Old Fashioned Way

The Old Fashioned Way

These days, it seems that most people want everything and they want it now! There seems to be a sense of entitlement, which is in direct contrast to that of my grandparents generation. In those days they knew that nothing was given to you - if you wanted something, you had to work hard to get it. If you weren't prepared to work hard - you went without!

Simply put, if you wanted it enough you would put the effort in...

hard work + discipline + good habits = the reward you desire.

Now that might seem somewhat boring and you probably won't see the results you are looking for immediately, but you will if you keep plugging away and don't give up. Today though, as a society, we seem to no longer value the rewards that a strong work ethic can bring.

The post WW2 generations have enjoyed a standard of living that earlier generations could only have dreamed of and have lost sight of the determination and hard work it really takes to build wealth and not the illusion created by simply spending on credit.

Society has become complacent and now people simply expect it to be there and handed to them on a plate, forgetting how “it” got to be there in the first place.

As Darren Hardy says “real and lasting success requires work and lots of it”

So ask yourself what it is that you want to achieve in life, do you want it enough to really put the effort in?
