Old Details New Purpose.

Staying in different hotels and visiting some beautifully designed restaurants around the world I have always loved contemporary refits of older buildings (when done with care and respect) and always admired designers who knew how to match or contrast the right lighting.  Places like 'Public' (Chicago), Titanic (Liverpool) and Michelburger (Berlin) have been refitted with such care as to add much without the deletion of their history.

They all served as my inspiration for the design of 'Bolt'.  

Bolt is an all terrain lamp - it will look as good on pristine fresh plaster as it will on brick or concrete, new or old surfaces. It will also complement surface mounted trunking so if you can't bury the cable in a refurb you can make it into a feature.

The advent of LED means product that can potentially be in position for many more years and that means its surroundings will get a makeover or two in that time.  With Bolt you mask over the LED lens and paint.  Let it pick up layers, splashes and lumps.

On the technical side we were able to get the 18W LED unit into the bracket profile that also acts as the heatsink so its a very slim 6mm (1/4") unit on its illuminated surface.  If you want to flush mount and hide the box in the wall the entire profile is 6mm.
