OKRs: Know the enemy within
OKRs might be the most effective diagnostic tool you have! A quick trick to figure out which OKRs give you a lift and which are a drag.
Here's the framework:
Imagine scoring each OKR on importance vs. ability, your end up with four simple quadrants:
In the ideal world all your OKRs would end up in the top right corner, but in reality it tends to look more like this:
This easy part is the top right corner - high strategic importance in areas where we have high ability.
But what about the upper left?
Bottom right?
And bottom left?
Easy, right? Who needs McKinsey or Bain?
