Okay, now what?

Okay, now what?

It’s great to look back and to see the progress of your business over the years. But now you are here, where to now? Are you planning on running your business for the foreseeable future or are you starting to think about new challenges at some point?

If you’re curious about your options, I have access to a tool you might find interesting. It’s a questionnaire developed by John Warrillow who wrote the book Built to Sell, about selling a business after having exited a couple himself. The tool prompts you with a series of questions, tells you whether your business is "Sellable" the way you have it structured, and then makes some suggestions for improving the "Value" of your company.

It takes about fifteen minutes to do the online survey and then the tool automatically generates a report that gives your business a score on the eight key things business buyers look for in a company. I know you’re probably years away from selling, but taking the survey will give you a sense of where you’re at – so at the very least, you’ll know where you stand and what will need fixing or improving if you’re going to maximise the value of your company.
