Is it okay to Judge others?
Contemporary social media is flourished with people posting about how we shall not judge people or you’ve no idea about the circumstances of my life and that gives you no right to judge me.
There’s a fundamental flaw in this concept itself. There’s no person who doesn’t judge others, voluntarily or involuntarily we all do that. People who are bragging about themselves that how they never judge anyone are just the people who have chosen to not to speak about their judgment for others. Judging people is a natural consequence of our ‘paradigm’. Based on our upbringing and information that we’ve gathered in all the past years of our life we develop our own glasses to see the world. Those glasses classify all the wrong or rights for us which keeps on evolving. Except for the extreme cases if we had been in the shoes of the people whose judgment annoys us probably we might have been doing the same. Judging others ain’t an issue, the problem lies with the fact that you’re getting affected by the judgment of other people.
What the other person thinks about you why is it so important? You want to look good in 10 people’s eyes that’s not gonna change the experience of your life. One of the prime cause of getting affected by what other people thinks about you is the lack of ‘self-awareness’. Just because you’re not completely aware or unsure about yourself is the reason why the judgment of others is a problem for you. The problem lies with the lousy management of your own emotions. Self- awareness, and clarity will not make suffer when being criticized or when being flattered.
You shall not give this privilege to anybody that somebody can make you happy or unhappy or somebody can make you feel miserable. If you’re a consequence of other people’s opinions then where do you plan to go like this? anybody can ruin you. Instead of stopping people to keep opinions we should rather stop getting influenced by it.
Whatever others or you think about yourself might have psychological or social relevance but it has no ‘existential relevance’. However, we need to rationalize our judgments since this world needs more acceptance than anything else.
