Ok, I changed my mind…. Mostly.

I talked yesterday about the Grammy’s and how relatively unimpressed I was by the whole production of that and, most of the awards shows.

Well, that was my take from catching what was more or less the middle 60% of the show.

?The beauty of streaming, and of X and other social media is I managed to figure out that I missed some pretty powerful stuff.

Maybe, it’s just not being a young as I once was there was a lot of performances in the middle that just weren’t that impressive to me.?? I’ve been forced to listen for instance to Oli, ia Rodrigo’s album A LOT since my son plays it when driving along with, strangely Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and a bunch of others from before my time.? Her performance of the Grammy’s, although I like the album didn’t seem very impressive.

However, then I caught up by watching Tracy Champman with Luke Combs, Joni Mitchell, and Billy Joel.?Wow, those (especially Tracy Chapman) were incredible.?????Very powerful.

?The who experience kinda reminds me of sales processes that go sideways.

Way too many new program directors, or failing school owners jump to the end for people who haven’t experienced the full experience.?? Just as I caught the middle and gave it a thumbs down without a powerful opening and, tear jerking ending.???

?To be effective, in relationships, in a live event, and in a sales process you’ve got to make the full presentation.?? Don’t skip to the “bottom line” without the prospect being impressed with your full opportunity.? Without providing “proof.”? Without getting emotional buy-in.

I see schools screwing that sequence up all of the time.

?Anything from putting the class schedule and price sheet on their website to basically asking someone to “sign-up” on the way in the door without getting them excited about the process and the benefits of your program.
