Ukrnafta PJSC first-ever carried out extra-heavy hydraulic fracturing. 42 tons of proppant were used involving Himeko-B aqueous gel. The operation was conducted on its own without resorting to third-party contractors.

The complexity of this operation was to supply proppant in the amount required to fix the created cracks under the lack of a proppant carrier of the required tonnage. 

According to Sergey Kuzub, director of OSD, the operation confirms Ukrnafta’s potential in the development with global technological trends. He also noted that the company continued the active phase of creating a single organization, the Oilfield Services Department, which would provide a wide range of oilfield services to all production subdivisions of Ukrnafta PJSC and other companies. This provides for the centralization of all service divisions of the company as part of the new structural unit.

Ukrnafta noted that the operation was possible thanks to the high professionalism of the team, including specialists such as Yaroslav Khalak, Vladimir Savka, Mikhail Babiy and many others, in particular, specialists from other subdivisions of the company who provided strong support.

This week, Prime Minister Alexey Goncharuk made two important statements for the oil and gas industry. Initially, Mr. Goncharuk assured that the reduction of the royalty rate for new wells was pointless. Later, he mentioned the development of a bill that provides for the taxation of "sleeping" licenses, so the owners of such sites will have to pay royalty even if no production.

The natural gas production in the current month decreased by almost 6% compared to September last year - to 1.636 BCM of gas. Cumulated production grew slightly over nine months - by 0.2% and amounted to 15.5 BCM. At the same time, the average daily production shows a downward trend and amounts to 54.6 MMCM, which is equivalent of the minimum values of the last three years.
