Ohio State's Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program Welcomes New Students

Ohio State’s Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program recently welcomed 27 incoming graduate students at New Student Orientation. More than 100 associated faculty members and returning students participated in the luncheon; it was terrific to see many members of the College of Medicine's graduate education community at this event.
The incoming student class is an exceptional group; we look forward to their growth and development as excellent scientists. A few highlights about their background. . .
- Nine received prestigious University Fellowships from The OSU Graduate School
- Seven students are enrolled in the Medical Scientist Training Program
- 17 are women and 10 are men
- Seven are underrepresented students
- Average undergraduate GPA = 3.62
- Average GRE scores = 61% (verbal), 56% (quantitative), and 56% (analytical writing)
### Based in Ohio State's College of Medicine, the central theme of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program is “The Biology of Human Disease.” The mission of the program is to improve health care through innovation in research based on an understanding of how multiple organ systems and physiological processes function. The program is supported by a training award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences at the National Institutes of Health in Systems and Integrative Biology.
