Oh! So you've done computer science engineering then why sales?
After completing high school like every teenager I was confused about which stream should I choose and the safest option told to me was CSE.
My first year in engineering was total left, right, and center. I was trying to get through the exams and purely focused on my studies.
But in the second year, there was some relaxation. So I started doing things which I like. Gone to few debate competitions, organized events, etc.
I started reading about companies, start-ups and was curious to know how it actually feels like to work in one.
So I got one nontechnical summer internship in a start-up. At that time, it was not mandatory to do internships in the second year. But still, I was curious, and instead of going back to my family in the summer holidays. I decided to stay back and opt for that internship.
The stipend was not too high. But at least it was covering my travel necessity.
In my third year also I joined a few virtual programs and internships. But before entering my final year. I needed to decide if I want to continue my career in CSE or something different.
I knew that I loved communicating with others, influencing people but I wanted to be sure.
In the summer holidays of my third year, I was purely focused on my coding skills. Made some websites, watched videos, experimented here and there.
I was good at it and I'm sure there were very few people in my college who've done those things even the ones who are right now working in IT.
When I done the comparison between something I like and something which was related to my graduation stream.
It was still a risk because I was confident with my communication skills but was not sure if I'll be good with sales too. Because it's altogether a different game.
Within three months I was Sure that yes I'm good at it. Got promoted in the least time period in my company. Made some new sales records and slowly-slowly more interest started building.
I'm still in my learning phase and I think it's never gonna end.
