Oh my, what a DIFFERENCE a Festive Period Makes!

So we all think it, but finally here is some data to prove it.

The 'Always On' Burnout State of the Nation Assessment shows that the Festive Period had a demonstrable impact on us in terms of Burnout and our relationship with the 15 Drivers of Human Comfort and Distress!

Some headlines comparing the State of the Nation on 22nd January 2024 to 22nd December 2023:

  • People Burnt-Out reduced from 14% to 12%
  • People on their way to Burning-Out reduced from 18% to 15%

So some great news here, in fact looking at the stats there's been an improvement across the board. Time off, rest, fun, enjoyment, giving, compassion, relationships, improved mental health will have all contributed to the upward trend in people's Burnout State.

HOWEVER!!!

Sorry to dampen the post Festive Cheers, but take a look at what People are not as comfortable with. In December 2023 it was; Demands, Finance, Diet and Exercise in that order!

Move forward one month, with a Festive Period in-between, and it is morphed to Diet, Exercise, Finance and Demands in that order!

Are we surprised? Of course not, because, speaking for myself here, many would have over indulged, switched their exercise regime to a more social programme, and maxed out financially, so these are now concerns!

Data doesn't lie, and it can be used to optimise your own mental wealth and performance. It can also be used by organisations to optimise the mental wealth and performance of their people by tailoring their existing resources to support their workforces (EAP's etc), and supplementing these with workforce-wide people optimisation programmes and individual one-to-one coaching where required.

I'll leave you to chew over the data, and I am of course always here if you have questions, or would like to run the assessment within your organisation to benchmark your workforce reality against the State of the Nation, to establish where you might be able to make laser focused changes to improve your people's life and work performance.
