(And no that is not me right now - can you imagine the aggression, if I were at a pumpkin patch the SECOND it struck September?)
It's funny how we tend to wait until something changes in our environment before we make changes in our lives. New Year's resolutions are a good example of that. And I think the second the PSLs come out, we're racing to get things done before the year's end.
But this is a friendly reminder to you and to me that change, both business and personal, is possible at any time. And when we change the internal, often the environmental change we've been craving comes quickly after.???
As I imagine all of you know by now, myself and my colleagues are obsessed with brand strategy. It’s a cornerstone of what we do, so maybe that’s a bit of a “duh, Tyler.” But we’ve been working a TON lately with companies like @Deer Mountain Village, @TAD, and @REC4SUCCESS on reimagining their brands from the ground up. We come to the table on a weekly basis, talking high-level strategy, and building out a thoughtful plan for implementation. It’s a deeply collaborative process, and it means a great deal that these wonderful teams put their faith in us. I think it’s kind of a vulnerable process, too, because we’re really examining someone’s vision, their hopes and dreams for their business, and ultimately their livelihood. I also love going into sessions like that and checking my ego at the door. A lot of times, my idea is far from the best one, and if it were always the best, I should have a Nobel Prize or something, right? Of course, I don’t always have the right answers. But I’m here to thoughtfully move forward as an advocate for my clients and find them together.
CLIENT SPOTLIGHT
Forensic Pathology Services (FPS)
What do you think of when you hear the word “Forensics”? Something really cool, right? Probably not… but I swear Giovanni Trilleras, Lou Kramer, and the rest of the incredible team at FPS manage to make that a reality. We just launched FPS’ new website, and we’re working with them on a series of informational videos. I must say, I’m continually blown away by this company and its leadership. The subject matter is incredibly serious, sensitive, and so important - ultimately, we are talking about autopsies. That is far from an easy subject matter to cover - in fact, it might literally be the hardest. Giovanni and the FPS team are the country’s best resource for independently reviewed autopsy reports. They are so warm, kind, and knowledgeable with their clients, and they are remarkably supportive, understanding, and helpful with their staff. When a pathologist goes to a new office to help out, Gio personally accompanies them so they feel comfortable, takes them out to dinner, brings lunch for the whole office they’re visiting, and puts them up in the best hotels possible to ensure their comfort. Are we KIDDING? They are the definition of above and beyond, so it’s so important to me that we continue to do the same for them.

Instagram Updates, September 2024
Here are a few changes that you’ll see popping up on Instagram as they roll them out this fall: ? Instagram is testing a vertical grid in the profile. Users who have been selected to take part in this test are seeing all photos in a vertical portrait mode and 4:5 aspect ratio, vs the classic Instagram landscape square. Undoubtedly this change comes from the way we all take vertical photos with our front cameras more than we ask someone else to take a horizontal photo, and it better accommodates the style of front-camera videos that flood our feeds. I think it’s likely that this test will be implemented for the entirety of Instagram, if anything because it’s better suited to the smartphones we all have and will continue to have, but it could take months and months to reach your profile. My advice is to start rolling out the new aspect ratio on your content now so that your grid adapts seamlessly to the change. ? You can now add text on top of your photos and photo series (aka “carousels”) so you no longer have to use another app to accomplish the task! This can be especially helpful when you’re looking to put a comedic spin on your photos, or add informational text. ? ? Another carousel update is going from 10 photos to 20 photos total. I suggest you experiment with the number of photos you include and see how your audience responds to a few additional ones. I personally forget to take photos anywhere I go. Luckily, I basically always have my video crew in tow. ? LOL this last one’s a throwback: you can now add a song to your Instagram profile…like MySpace. Yes, everybody - it really is the early 2000s up in here again. ?? ?
That’s all for now! Until next time - here’s to building your empire.
