Oh No ...!!!

My printer died a couple of weeks ago. RIP printer. I'd had it a few years and it hadn't been well for a while. But then I turned it on and all that kept coming up was that there was a printer error. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it (because that worked last time) but it just wasn't having it. Tech-savvy son-in-law also tried to resuscitate it but it was a lost cause. It now lies forlornely in the corner, blissfully unaware as I clear a space for a replacement printer which will arrive anytime in the next three weeks.

As with most things, you don't know how much you use something until it isn't there! My beautiful Cross fountain pen (Cross as in name not as in angry) was sent by special delivery to the Cross HQ a couple of weeks ago because it had nib-fatigue. At least I think that's what it was. Fortunately for me, a writer who loves to write everything in longhand first, Cross pens come with a lifetime guarantee so it won't cost me anything except patience as I wait for its return with a new nib in place. The replacement printer on the other hand has been a sod to get sorted. Firstly I was looking for a replacement Canon because that is the one I am used to. The only Canon printers I could find were those meant for businesses. It seems new Canon printers for home-use are old hat as nobody anywhere had one.

Having discovered I could no longer order the Canon one I liked, I started looking at other brands - Brother, HP, Kodak. I found a few on the internet and checked out various retailers only to be told "We haven't had new ones in for months because of Covid." That's funny. We were told exactly the same thing when we were looking for a freezer to get us through Lockdown a couple of months ago. Anyway, in the end I found the exact HP printer I think I will need. On Amazon of all places. At exactly the right size and price. So now I wait with baited breath for my new printer. Then at least I can start printing off my LinkedIn articles again!
