Oh God, What Did I Even Do Last Year ?
It's that time of year again, the annual 'Oh God, What Did I Even Do Last Year?' extravaganza. Everyone seems to have had profound learnings and is already making grand plans for the year ahead. Meanwhile, I'm knee-deep in emails from 2024, feeling like a detective trying to solve the mystery of my own productivity while simultaneously attempting to assemble a report for our funders. It's like trying to build furniture without instructions – frustrating, time-consuming, and the end result is inevitably a wobbly, questionable structure.
Just when I think I've finally pieced together a coherent narrative of last year, BAM! Another email pops up, revealing a new, horrifying truth about my past. It's like one of those Russian nesting dolls – you keep peeling back the layers, and there's always another, smaller, more terrifying layer lurking beneath. Honestly, the sheer volume of work we accomplished last year is staggering, and trying to make sense of it all is proving to be quite the challenge.
Speaking of revelations, I thought we were just tinkering around with V-All, but apparently, we've stumbled upon some groundbreaking insights. We've essentially invented a new form of time travel while disrupting giving, except instead of going back in time, it forces you to relive the agonizing process of writing your annual newsletter.
So, buckle up, folks, because this year's reflection is going to be a wild ride. Who knows what other horrifying truths I'll unearth? Did I accidentally delete all my vacation photos? Wait, when was the last time I even went on vacation? 2021, maybe? The possibilities are truly endless!
Whatever the final outcome, it will be worth the wait. Until then, I hope this random post on the joys of reflection has brought a smile to your face. After all, sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying, especially when faced with the daunting task of documenting an entire year of your professional life.
